Splendid Shenyang: Urban Poster Series

Shenyang, a city with a history of over 2000 years, is the birthplace of the Qing Dynasty, the last dynasty in China. This poster series depict two historic landmarks and a downtown area of Shenyang in the shape of Chinese characters, with their classic buildings and natural features mingled together.
The first poster is “故宫”（Gugong), which is the imperial palace of the early Qing dynasty. It is written on the World Heritage List and combines the cultures and architectures of different nationalities. The poster features the ancient imperial buildings with the classic red walls and golden tiles as its main images. The flowing rivers, ancient trees and flying birds are telling the glorious story of the Qing Dynasty and the long history of Chinese culture.
The second poster is “北陵” (Beiling), namely Zhao Mausoleum of the Qing Dynasty. It boasts enchanted landscapes intersected with the imperial tombs. The dominant hue is blue, complemented by red tones, creating a solemn atmosphere. The chrysanthemums and pine trees symbolize nobility and auspiciousness in our culture while the hidden dragon indicates the power and authority of ancient emperors. All these elements are arranged in the Chinese characters “北陵” to impress the viewers.
The last one in the series is “中街” (Zhongjie), which is a bustling commercial center in Shenyang. The color of purple first catches eyes, signifying the prosperous and booming business in Chinese culture. The poster displays Zhongjie as the place where the ancient meets with the modern, with historic landmarks mixed with shopping malls, just like the splendid Shenyang. The city attracts visitors around the world with its impressive ancient monuments and vibrant modern atmosphere.
