To celebrate its 25th anniversary, the DWS Investment Conference transformed from a traditional finance event into an emotional, multisensory journey — blending music, data, and artificial intelligence to explore the future of finance.
Set in the prestigious Alte Oper Frankfurt, the conference welcomed 1,000 hand-picked decision-makers from the financial and investment sector. The showstopper: an immersive, audiovisual opening performance titled “The Sound of Finance” — a unique collaboration between human composers and AI systems.
Using 25 years of MSCI World Index data, AI models identified emotional and historical turning points in global financial markets. These data patterns were transformed into musical themes by AI-driven audio tools and refined by composers into a fully orchestrated live performance. Accompanied by dynamic media and a cinematic light show, the result was a powerful symphonic narrative that brought events like the dotcom bubble, the rise of tech, and the 2008 crisis to life — audibly and visually.
This fusion of technology and artistry was mirrored in the stage design: a modular, fractal layout with semi-transparent lighting created depth and allowed the audience to experience the interaction between man and machine, past and future.
The show set the tone for an inspiring two-day conference with bold, interactive formats — from keynote dialogues and personal breakouts to AI installations and architectural interventions throughout the historic venue. Guests were invited to move freely, explore content at their own pace, and engage with future-facing themes in unexpected ways.
With 97% of participants rating the experience as inspiring or very inspiring, the DWS Investment Conference 2025 didn’t just inform — it moved its audience.
