NYC Chinatown Banner 2025

‘Chinatown Banner 2025’ is a vibrant series of banners displayed throughout New York City’s Chinatown. Created as part of an initiative to add to the festive atmosphere of Chinatown, this project introduces a design that speaks to a younger audience while remaining welcoming to all generations. This is an ongoing project to honor every corner of Chinatown.
Featuring the Chinese characters—Fu福, which symbolizes prosperity and good luck, and zodiac animals—the Dragon and Snake—to mark the transition from the Year of the Dragon to the Year of the Snake in 2025, the design combines rich cultural symbolism with dynamic geometric illustrations and a striking color palette. Now proudly displayed across the NYC Chinatown district, including Bayard Street, Bowery Street, Canal Street, and Mott Street, the banners have been warmly embraced by the community.
