About The Entry
Located in Central Taiwan, the Taichung Aquarium embraces a philosophy of "Openness." Within this boundary-less architecture, ULTRACOMBOS curated a series of digital experiences that function as the connective tissue between the open space and the biological exhibits.
Our design facilitates a sensory "submersion," guiding visitors from high-mountain springs to the deep sea. By embedding interactive layers directly into the architecture, we transform the physical journey into a living narrative of ecological discovery.
Highlights:
Seamless Narrative Flow: Digital installations are structurally integrated, not just displayed. They guide the visitor’s descent, ensuring the vast, open layout maintains a coherent storytelling rhythm.
Interactive Submersion: We translated complex species behaviors into visceral interactions—from the fluid motion of shark schools to the rhythmic pulse of jellyfish—turning passive observation into an active understanding of the ocean.
Eco-Acoustic Innovation: A custom spatial soundscape provides deep immersion through frequency-filtered audio, specifically designed to protect the resident marine life from acoustic stress.
Through this project, ULTRACOMBOS demonstrates how digital art can bridge the gap between human curiosity and the natural world within a massive, open-concept environment.
