About The Entry

Overview:
Created for the fashion segment opening of the 2025 World Design Cities Conference (WDCC), this project is a large-scale digital scenography that visualizes the evolution from carbon-based heritage to silicon-based intelligence. By blending Jiangnan aesthetics, the Haipai spirit, and futuristic digital art, the performance tells a cohesive story of Shanghai’s cultural roots and its tech-driven future.
Design Innovation:
The project utilizes a pioneering AIGC-integrated workflow specifically for the 30-minute fashion show’s backdrop, significantly boosting production efficiency while ensuring seamless alignment with the garments. At its heart is the "StarTree" and "Spaceship"—independently conceived creative concepts that reinterpret Shanghai’s symbolic White Magnolia as a bio-mechanical icon. Across the performance, 15 generative visual themes are precisely synced with 60 models, creating a "living skin" for the stage that dynamically responds to the movements of the garments and the spatial narrative.
Brand Impact:
The immersive environment transforms passive viewing into a multi-sensory journey, allowing the audience to emotionally connect with the bridge between tradition and digital intelligence. For the client, this signature opening strengthens Shanghai’s identity as a Global Design Capital. It showcases the city’s leadership in digital innovation, setting a new international benchmark for how cutting-edge technology can elevate public cultural events and fashion performances.
Social Responsibility & Sustainability:
This project redefines the intersection of cultural heritage and digital innovation. By integrating historical aesthetics into a futuristic narrative, it inspires global audiences to reimagine tradition in the tech era. Environmentally, the AIGC-assisted digital workflow significantly reduces material waste and production costs compared to traditional physical stage sets, aligning with modern sustainable event practices.
Aesthetics & Expressiveness:
The visual language is a meticulously balanced composition of color, light, and rhythm. Every element—from the StarTree forms to the shifting digital palettes—is designed to complement the fashion collection rather than distract from it. The result is a sophisticated, coherent relationship between form and function that positions design as a bridge between a storied past and an inclusive, sustainable future.
