A Life Worth Smiling

This book documents Dr. Chiu’s thirty-year journey across the Tibetan Plateau, where medical outreach and cultural observation converge through photography and personal narratives. The design translates the region’s distinctive visual identity into a contemporary language inspired by Neo-Plasticism. Vivid color bands—echoing the symbolic palette of Tibetan culture, prayer flags, and highland landscapes—divide the cover into bold geometric fields, representing both the layered geography of the plateau and the long roads traveled by a doctor often described as “the physician on horseback.”
At the center, a lifted white quadrilateral forms a subtle opening gesture, like a door inviting readers into the stories within. It signifies discovery, reflection, and the quiet humanity behind decades of service. Through minimal geometry and symbolic color, the design bridges tradition and modernity, transforming a personal journey of compassion into a visual narrative of time, place, and enduring human connection.
