A alumni of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), her work represents a radical departure from traditional garment construction, replacing the needle and thread with the precise calculations of industrial design. Her process is less a tailor’s studio and more a laboratory; test tubes sit beside sewing machines as she experiments with the chemical limits of form.
The core of this collection lies in "material alchemy"—the transformation of high-performance paper substrates into kinetic, wearable art. Rejecting the inherent fragility of paper, Anastasia has developed proprietary chemical treatment processes that fundamentally alter the material’s DNA. This innovation grants the paper the water resistance and tensile flexibility of technical textiles while preserving its raw, industrial texture and sculptural integrity. Each garment is engineered to breathe and move with the body, yet maintains a "structural memory" that resists the wear of the elements.
In a profound homage to her academic roots, this collection translates the iconic Chicago Architecture into a series of wearable miniatures. Through intricate folding and CAD-engineered precision, Anastasia translates the rhythmic setbacks of Marina City, the vertical thrust of the Willis Tower, and the geometric elegance of the Tribune Tower into men's coats, jackets, and trousers. She successfully dismantles traditional tailoring—gone are the seams and darts, replaced by complex geometric folding and origami-inspired engineering.
Beyond the aesthetic, the project is rooted in a zero-waste foundation. By utilizing paper and upcycled materials, the collection proves that high-concept avant-garde can coexist with radical sustainability. Designed for the individual who values artful disruption, this collection challenges the industry to rethink the lifecycle of materials.
