About The Entry

Inspiring Formosa establishes a new paradigm for the classical album—not as a container of recorded works, but as a system for constructing cultural space through sound. Developed over four years across Taipei’s National Concert Hall and Kaohsiung’s Weiwuying, the project forms a dual-site sonic architecture, capturing two fundamentally distinct organ systems: the precision and tactility of mechanical-action craftsmanship, and the monumental scale and acoustic force of Asia’s largest symphonic organ.
The repertoire is curated as a structural continuum rather than a program sequence, grounded in Bach’s contrapuntal logic and extending through Romantic symphonic expression to contemporary Taiwanese compositions. This creates a coherent sonic axis that connects historical lineage with present-day cultural identity.
Rejecting post-production manipulation, the album is executed entirely through single-take live recording, preserving the indivisible moment in which sound, instrument, and architecture resonate as one. The result is not a reproduction of performance, but a constructed acoustic reality.
Its innovation lies in establishing a transferable model of cultural publishing—transforming a millennium-old European tradition into a contemporary Taiwanese expression. More than an album, Inspiring Formosa operates as a system of cultural construction, setting a new global benchmark for classical music publication.
This is not an album—it is a cultural architecture built with sound.
