In honor of National Hot Dog Day, Stella & Chewy's partnered with ReelPaws to promote their Wild Weenies Dog Treats with a live-streamed Dachshund race.
ReelPaws worked closely with Stella & Chewy's social team to concept a fun and engaging live stream video for Facebook. The video featured Dachshunds owned by Stella & Chewy’s employees. The dogs all wore hotdog costumes while Stella & Chewy's employees, many also dressed-up in theme-gear, cheered from the sidelines. Fans of the brand participated in the live stream video by making comments about who they thought would win the race. The social team even selected 25 people to win a free bag of Wild Weenies Dog Treats.
The live stream featured graphics reminiscent of a broadcast sporting event, including “player” cards, multiple angles, slow-motion, instant-replays, and even a winner’s circle.
With over 400,000 people who like their Facebook page, Stella & Chewy's maintains an active online presence. This year the Stella & Chewy's National Hot Dog Day live stream reached 359K views with 263 people sharing the video.
