Medical information is complex and often difficult for the average patient to understand. Signifi is a project that aims to break this barrier by focussing on the visual experience of electronic medical records. Through simplification and visual representation, we\'re able to create a front-end user interface that bridges communication between patients and physicians, while increasing patient knowledgeability. This installation was an effort to create a set of pictograms that communicate quality measures for patients with type II diabetes. The large wall graphic encouraged patrons to visit and interact with the installation while informational posters presented educational information about type II diabetes and medical/visual literacy. Surveys were also presented as an opportunity to gather information on the patrons\' medical/visual literacy, their ideal representation of the six quality measures, and their overall emotional reaction to the project/installation. All of the data gathered was used to test the effectiveness of the pictograms and the proposed user interface.
