To understand the thinking behind our new office space, you need to know our journey. Wiser exists simply because four young people realized that the environment they wanted to succeed in, didn't exist. Most work environments are overly corporate, with a focus on age, experience, and tenure. We wanted to create an environment that ignores the ordinary and doesn't subscribe to the preconceptions of what a company should be, so we didn't want an office like any other. We wanted an environment that encourages people to be better and expect more. Wiser was founded in 2013 when we launched our first product - GradQuiz, a website that matched up students with jobs in big companies. Since those early days in our first space on Golden Square, we've moved around the block. From Grosvenor Square to Oxford Circus & this was around the time James Caan offered us a ?500,000 investment and we turned it down and moved into a basement on Goodge Street. The things you do to protect your culture! In 2014, we used what we'd learned with GradQuiz and set up Wiser Graduates & our student database and knowledge of the graduate market allowed us to deliver recruitment to our clients in a way they hadn't experienced before. In terms of location, we had now moved our office to the Hospital Club in Covent Garden where we launched Wiser Elite. Then came Wiser Digital to tackle tech recruitment and, guess what? We moved again. This time to Kirby Street where we rebranded the group under Wiser and threw a party. We hired some amazing, like-minded people along the way to grow the brand and in 2015, the year Just Eat asked us to be their creative and recruitment partner, we launched our Key Accounts team. Our days at Kirby Street came to an end with us being thrown out for being too noisy (not as bad as it sounds, we've just got a bit too much fun in us for some neighbors), and so we moved into a hotel for a bit. Then in July 2016, we moved into our very own office on Farringdon Road, which was great, but we were growing so quickly we were running out of desk space for our seven teams. So, in March 2018, we found and designed a new space & the first to truly feel like home. We live by a set of values that define who we are and what we do. 1. Be real. Be yourself when everyone's watching. 2. Back yourself. Believe in your abilities. 3. Take ownership. Put yourself forward, be accountable. 4. Make moves. If you don't do it, someone else will. 5. Expect more. Dedicate yourself and pursue perfection. And our new office space is an embodiment of these values. Our space is open plan and as soon as you step out of the lift, you're amongst us. Two of the five meeting rooms - Clover and Golden Square - are designed in homage to offices from our past, while Time, with its hundreds of clocks on the wall, is a reminder of just how little there is, so make that move. Complete with ping pong table, home cinema for client screenings, and even a church pulpit, our new space is designed to be unexpected, wacky, warm and friendly. Other than a sign on the wall marking the general area of the team, where we work is up to us & the space is as flexible as we are agile, and it's fit for us to grow like crazy this year.
