Stateline YMCA

The Stateline Family YMCA is a multi-facility branch of the nonprofit outfit dedicated to youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
With the recent development of their Ironworks location in Beloit, WI, they wanted to give their website a “facelift” to echo the modern design of their brand new, state-of-the-art facility. When the YMCA approached us with this redesign project, some of their main objectives were to improve the navigation by reducing clicks and employ larger image graphics to engage users. All of this needed to be accomplished while following the YMCA’s strict branding guidelines.
To improve navigating the site, we reworked the sitemap and created a dropdown with a mega menu which enables the user to navigate anywhere within the site with only one click. We also employed a large search bar and a “Join Today” call to action pop-up that follows the user’s journey without being intrusive. In addition, the interior pages are reorganized and more attractive to the eye. To help meet the need for larger engaging graphics and quick & easy navigation, we incorporated accordion functionality at the top of the homepage that uses fun and attractive avatars as the main categories. This helps to grab the user’s attention and allow quicker access to relevant information.
