Methodical specialises in longer-term funds, offering clients a higher absolute excess on
return (‘Alpha’) with lower volatility. It achieves this by utilizing systematic, data-intensive
technology. In other words: less emotion, more calculation. Our challenge was creating an
identity for Methodical within an industry where clients are more often likely to default to
the safety of the herd with its platitudinal icons, symbols and metaphors.
Positioning Methodical as ‘unconventionally rationale’ we thought: what better way to
show confidence in their investment methodology than to base their corporate identity on
their actual track record. We used 2D graphs of their market performance to create a 3D
visual world that stands out as a corporate identity and ice-breaker to attract and engage
investors similarly unsatisfied with the status quo.
