Northwell Health introduced the “Hope Tracker” digital billboard at Madison Square Garden at a time when New Yorkers were inundated with daily reminders of the lives lost to COVID-19. The Hope Tracker served to change the conversation from despair and fear to hope and optimism.. The Hope Tracker highlighted the increasing number of COVID-19 patients who had been successfully treated and discharged from Northwell Health facilities. As New York’s largest health care provider, Northwell treated thousands of COVID-19 patients once the outbreak began in early March. At a time when news media outlets focused on frightening numbers of infections are deaths, Northwell brought light in the darkness by talking about lives that they saved -- in one of New York’s most iconic locations.
