Micro Key Solutions offers the most innovative, user-friendly software solutions for the security alarm industry; supporting over 4,000 customers in 43 countries with their central station, service, and accounting software. This includes continuously developing powerful, advanced mobile apps that help one stay connected with their business from anywhere.

We were tasked with Redesigning Micro Key Solution’s MKSynergy™ application. It is a web application that acts as a bridge between two applications enabling seamless syncing of data. It is an innovative platform that streamlines data entry and provides an auditing feature that saves time and money for alarm dealers.



MKSynergy application is part of an ecosystem of applications with multiple hand-offs and interconnections. We partnered with Micro Key Solutions and conducted research through workshops in which we understood the users, customers, and various stakeholders who would be using the platform. A Service design approach coupled with a Human-centered design approach was followed for all the users of the ecosystem in different capacities. Efficiency was created by connecting various applications of Micro Key so the information flow is easy and users don’t have to go on different applications. We studied each user's journey and then created a holistic blueprint understanding dependency, relationship with other users, and/or those that are part of the MKS suite. Many friction points, opportunities were mapped and solutions for improved efficiency for users were proposed and designed. We looked at each phase from awareness to service and grievances to effectively address user concerns.

A robust visual identity system was developed to communicate the brand design coherently through digital, advertising, and print. It was created by carrying out various branding workshops giving personality to the brand and creating guidelines such as brand guidelines, style guides, and tone document.

We made the platform interactions intuitive and user friendly, branding, and UI emotional and trendy. We have received a very encouraging reaction from the client and the logo has won in World Logo Design Awards 2020 under the Animated logo category.
