When we set out to design an all new website for Ardent, it was a long-awaited opportunity to properly introduce the Ardent of today. After nearly 30 years in business, we’ve evolved into a unique company within the L&D space. We are extremely industrious, with a highly diverse range of skill sets, backgrounds, and experience. Our new website needed to be representative of our values: Bold, Imaginative, Nimble, Tenacity, Integrity, and Humility. To bring the new Ardent to life visually, we came up with a design system that leveraged bold color-blocking, naturalistic photography, purposeful typography, and grid-breaking layout treatments. Our primary heading typeface, Industry, provides both workmanship and futuristic qualities. Proxima Nova, used for body copy and select headings, was chosen for its approachable and readable nature. We developed a comprehensive set of custom icons to represent our solutions, services and other concepts throughout the site. Using the popular line-style with a single brand accent color, our library of custom icons now exceeds 100 and continues to grow. As a provider of custom learning solutions, we embraced the modern design treatment of “breaking the grid.” Text and imagery purposefully overlaps between columns, creating depth and appealing visual tension, representing our commitment to breaking the L&D mold.
