The ad industry will do anything to win awards – whether it’s embellishing results, creating dogwalker campaigns, or faking entire projects. “Awards Gone Wild” pokes fun at Advertising’s awards obsession by showing what would happen if other professions resorted to the same tactics agencies use to win.

Everyone is familiar with that feeling of seeing a campaign win Gold and asking yourself, “did that actually run?” or “is that a real client?” As long as it looks great in the case study, the work doesn’t even have to be real anymore. By satirizing all the ways agencies “fake it” to win awards, Zulu Alpha Kilo is hoping to start a conversation about awarding real work again.

“Awards Gone Wild” debuted at 2021’s Agency of the Year awards ceremony, hosted by strategy, Canada’s largest trade publication for the industry. As part of the show, the top agencies are invited to create their own self-promo videos about whatever subject they want.
