FROM THE PAST TO THE FUTURE: THE JOURNEY OF HEALING
Abdi İbrahim, Turkey's longest established and sector-leading pharma company, takes a holistic view of sustainability and business, and views its environmental, social and governance pillars as key parts of a whole that complement and nurture each other. This approach allows it to bring benefit to Turkey and the world as a whole in all of its activities.
The Company prepares its sustainability reports within the framework of ESG principles and performance-based. Its 5th Sustainability Report, covers the 2019-2020 period, and tells the story of Abdi İbrahim's 109-year history, describing the ground-breaking and ambitious steps taken toward sustainability. The Report is the first corporate sustainability report in Turkey to pass through GRI’s SDG Mapping Service.
The content of the report was categorized under 8 headings in line with the GRI standards. Key performance indicators were included in the section entries. Afterwards, the contents and stakeholder opinions related to that section were placed.
For the design of the report, 9 strategic themes have determined under the theme “Past and Future”. Illustrations have been prepared in line with the message “The Healing Journey from the Past to the Future” and 9 themes, and feature on the cover and on the separators within the report. “Abdi İbrahim's passion for healing the future with the power it draws from its past, its efforts to discover new molecules, its biotechnological breakthroughs, the value it places in innovation and the environment, its goal of becoming a strong international brand, the importance of women in management and the key role they have played in bringing Abdi İbrahim to its current position, and the structure of the company intertwined with art” are manifested in these illustrations. Reflecting on the peaceful and healing spirit of the Company in the design language used, the Report is enriched with links to Abdi İbrahim's corporate videos, films and web pages, as well as stakeholder views, icons and infographics. The result is a holistic and functional report with high aesthetic value in terms of both content and design.
