In Spring of 2021, FARE, the world’s leading non-governmental organization engaged in food allergy advocacy and the largest private funder of food allergy research, wanted to create a better way for the food allergic community to enjoy the foods we love the most. FARE partnered with world-renowned vegan and food allergy chef Leslie Durso to identify the top ingredient swaps for some of the most common food allergies. Taping into culinary creative and easy to access ingredients, FARE developed the Simple Substitutions hub: a video library of quick and easy ingredient swaps for some of the most popular recipes. Whether allergic to dairy, wheat, peanuts, or other common allergens, FARE and Chef Durso delivered recipe demos to turn everyday products and ingredients into restaurant-quality dishes that more than 32 million food-allergic consumers could safely enjoy.
