Don't Get Lemon strive to set themselves apart from their contemporaries, and have crafted a "heatwave" sound that combines their love of several genres while leaving behind some of the aesthetic associated with dark wave or goth music genres. In order to create the artwork for their debut LP, Hyper Hollow Heaven, DGL wanted something that made their departure from current dark wave atheistic trends apparent from the first glimpse of the art. They wanted something that glowed and sparkled without being too glitzy, while also communicating an understanding of how art and music is being devalued in the current state of media. This art glows and blurs the name of the album while sitting on top of textures that obstruct a computer generated mash up of promotional imagery of each member of the band themselves- warped and changed and morphed into grotesque angels fit to live in the hyper capitalistic construct in which the album finds itself. The resulting piece reflects the sounds found at dontgetlemon.bandcamp.com.
