“Super Star: National Sports Performance Event” is an annual sports show held by Taiwan(R.O.C.) Government. The event aims to promote and connect different sports to the public and glorify the fantastic achievement that professional athletes achieved in Taipei Arena, Taiwan. Entering its 7th year, this ever-popular event has employed more systematic visual design elements to flip a whole new page of its brand this time. This year promises to deliver even deeper crossover excitement and cheerful vibes than the usual sports-related activities.
The winner's podium inspired the visual design concept, and the composition adapts the form and angle of the pop-up structure to connect to the V shape stage design for victory. Encouraging everyone to face the challenge, make the breakthrough, flip a whole new page, and become the winner in a healthy life. The logotype visualizes the sport's momentum by transforming the track field form into its structure since athletics(track and field) is the mother of all sports and the event's opening showcase. The patterns and graphics were composed of circles as the vital visual elements representing exciting sports and cheerful celebration.
The color scheme was a significant focus on this occasion, intending to bring out the positive energy and stick to the sports category promoted this year. For inspiration, we went to the vibrant primary colors of the sports performed and the local images of Taiwan island. We chose ocean blue(Pacific ocean), island cyan(Formosa island), passion red(Taiwanese Aborigines), and glory yellow(Alishan mountain sunrise) as symbols of the goal in every athlete's mind assisted with the pure white color, the plum blossom, which stands for the national flower of Taiwan(R.O.C.).
The event branding focuses on the distinct key visual design, dynamic logotypes, delightful themed patterns, vibrant color schemes, and vivid motion graphics to communicate the event's spirit and program. The project was developed in various formats for the event, such as advertising posters, campaign brochures, kinetic pictograms, TVCF, background videos, and digital signage. The public get to know the event easily with intuitive insight.
