As the global pandemic receded and Taiwan lifted its travel restrictions, the Authentic Taiwanese House Pop-Up Activation was held from October 21-23, 2022, at Toronto's bustling Yonge-Dundas Square. This unique event aimed to boost tourism to Taiwan by extending a warm invitation for tourists to experience the country's hospitality as guests in an authentic Taiwanese house.
The pop-up exhibit, designed as a traditional Taiwanese house, offered visitors an immersive and engaging experience showcasing the vast array of attractions Taiwan has to offer. Within the house, three color-themed experiences were featured: Red, celebrating Taiwan's cultural and historical aspects; Green/Blue, focusing on the country's natural beauty and outdoor activities; and Gold, revealing the hidden gem of "small town ramble" adventures. Interactive elements, including oil-painted umbrellas, tea, and divination blocks, further enriched the visitors' cultural experience, while a packet of Taiwanese tea served as a souvenir to extend the sensory journey beyond the event.
Visitors enthusiastically shared their user-generated content, which further amplified its online presence. The campaign also effectively leveraged social media influencers, generating a significant number of impressions.
The activation successfully highlighted Taiwan's diverse attractions, instilling a deeper understanding and appreciation of the country in visitors. This innovative, experiential campaign effectively positioned Taiwan as an unmissable destination while memorably engaging consumers.
