This work is a high school civics textbook in Taiwan. We collaborated with a non-profit organization called "Aestheticell," dedicated to enhancing the aesthetics of education in Taiwan, and Hanlin Publishing Company for this textbook redesign project. The goal was to transform the existing high school civics textbook in Taiwan, making it visually appealing, effectively conveying information, and creating groundbreaking results in the market.

We introduced information design into this textbook redesign project by creating a multitude of information graphics that make complex academic knowledge easily understandable. We also collaborated with illustrators to simplify and make various challenging knowledge concepts more captivating. For example, on the textbook cover, we condensed the entire process of Taiwan's elections into an illustrated flowchart.

Simultaneously, we implemented a "subtractive design" approach to the overall color scheme, significantly reducing the use of colors in the textbook. This not only minimized visual noise caused by excessive colors but also gave the visual effects a refreshing and distinctive appearance. After the launch of this redesigned textbook, it achieved a breakthrough in sales performance and received enthusiastic praise from teachers and students alike.

Through this collaboration, we aimed to revolutionize high school civics education in Taiwan. The incorporation of information design and simplified visuals has made the textbook more visually engaging and accessible, allowing students to grasp the content more effectively. The success of this textbook redesign project not only sets a new standard in educational aesthetics but also establishes a significant impact on the market.
