My rebranding initiative for the Museum at FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) sought to infuse a fresh, contemporary aura into this specialized fashion haven located in the heart of New York. This overhaul culminated in an all-encompassing branding system equipped with custom codes tailored to generate distinct designs.
Drawing inspiration from classic button patterns and intricate garment techniques, I reimagined these elements into a versatile geometric design framework. In this context, buttons transcend their utilitarian role, serving as metaphors for connection, unity, and the seamless melding of disparate elements. This symbolism resonates powerfully with the museum's ethos, emphasizing diversity, inclusivity, and the spirit of inventive thought. To instill a sense of youthful energy and vibrancy, a modular visual construct has been consistently applied throughout the brand's identity.
One of the pivotal challenges I grappled with during this rebranding process was crafting a visual narrative that not only struck a chord with the fashion community but also encapsulated the industry's ceaseless dynamism. My solution? Harnessing the power of Processing for code-driven design. This approach empowered me to create a myriad of unique patterns, serving as a visual testament to the ever-adaptive, pulsating heart of the fashion realm.
