The "CULTURAL CHRONICLE" exhibition series is based on over a decade of research and organization by the "Shanghai Nianhua"
project team at the Shanghai Library. It is designed and produced by a team led by Tiejong,
the Vice Dean of the School of Creativity at the Shanghai Theatre Academy.
Among these exhibitions the "CULTURAL CHRONICLE" takes a chronological perspective to recreate the growth process of modern Shanghai's urban culture.
It emphasizes the connections and evolution of key elements in its cultural history.
This project is a digital exhibition of cultural heritage resources created within the framework of the public smart library.
It is based on the library's collection resources database and combines visualization technology and interactive design to showcase cultural heritage resources.

This project has restructured the traditional digital narrative mode,
encompassing data from 12 major categories including fine arts, publishing,
drama, literature, education, music, and film, spanning from 1840 to 1949, and comprising 16,865 historical and cultural events.
Based on the logical relationships between events, a non-linear spatiotemporal correlation has been established,
following the principles of interactive and artistic data visualization design.
This project constructs a data art map that reflects the evolution of urban historical and cultural relationships,
realizing multi-dimensional digital storytelling of urban memories. Built on an "event-driven" foundation,
it classifies knowledge nodes by thematic fields and the strength of interconnections between nodes.
Using the quantity and granularity of influencing factors, it generates macro-level spatiotemporal visual maps.
The interactive maps provide multi-dimensional displays of the narrative, interactivity, and relationships among the resources in the collection.
During the interactive process, users are given more choices for interaction, guiding them to establish their own digital narrative logic based on points of interest.
This non-linear visual interactive mode offers new methods and pathways for cross-institutional knowledge aggregation and dissemination.
