In early 2022, Parallel partnered with Threshold to develop a unique website for their new student housing community in Columbus, Ohio, Lumen on Ninth. Our objective was to apply the branding we had previously created to a website experience for students that spoke directly to them and got them excited about their time off campus.

The design concept for Lumen’s website embodies a perfect blend of sophistication and practicality. It aims to showcase the property’s architectural beauty while ensuring a seamless user experience. Inspired by the property’s logo, we purposefully used linear patterns throughout the website design. This freeform application connects elements and adds visual interest, guiding visitors through their page visits.

The website’s sleek design, enriched with high-quality visuals, is what brings this property to life and entices prospective residents. We applied a strong night design theme, with a black and grey gradient background that elevates the look of the website while keeping it clean and modern. This plays homage to the design accents of the property itself, with pops of gold and red to capture the audience’s attention and entice calls to action.

When it came to the user experience of Lumen on Ninth, this website was designed with simple and straightforward navigation, including a responsive layout that allows for a smooth and consistent experience across all devices. Interactive features like property virtual tours not only allow site visitors to visualize their future home from anywhere in the world, but they also add depth and engaging elements to the site to keep visitors on a page.

As a leading real estate website design and development agency, Threshold continues to innovate plug-ins and tools. We incorporated interactive floor plans on Lumen’s website, along with a live chat support feature. With access to this information, prospects receive a seamless leasing experience and are more likely to convert.

From its tongue-in-cheek, conversational brand voice to its bold use of patterns and vibrant pops of color, Lumen on Ninth’s website speaks to the sensibilities of Gen Z students attending OSU.
