Sponsored by the professional esports brand ZOWIE GEAR, the "eXTREMESLAND CS:GO ASIA Open" was founded in 2016 as an esports event organization exclusively dedicated to gamers. Spanning over thirty countries and regions, it not only provides an ideal and fair competitive stage for esports enthusiasts but also actively contributes to the development of esports culture and ecosystem across Asia, becoming the largest international FPS (First Person Shooter) event brand IP for "Counter-Strike: Global Offensive" in Asia.
Asia, often referred to as the "Extreme Land," serves as the inspiration for the event's name, "extreme Land," encompassing the world's pinnacle peaks like Mount Everest and the depths of the Mariana Trench. It challenges human limits with elements of red and black, creating a combat atmosphere, reinforcing the visual association with extreme cold, and crafting a thrilling and intense esports brand IP.
The theme for 2023 is "THE SPIRIT OF ASIA." The main visual features 8 infrared laser sights aimed at the center of Asia, symbolizing the 8 finalist teams competing for the highest FPS championship glory in Asia. The inspiration for the championship trophy is derived from the three-dimensional design of the official logo of the Extreme Land. The flat gun barrel spiral pattern transforms into a layered depiction of ascending mountain peaks, culminating in the crosshair at the summit, conveying the determination of competitors to reach the highest honor.
The 2023 competition encompassed the participation of 1814 teams from 6 countries and regions, with 8 teams successfully advancing to the grand finals. Media coverage extended to 49 outlets in the Asia-Pacific region, achieving a total media platform event promotion viewership of 4.22 million. The live broadcast garnered over 850,000 viewers in total, with a peak concurrent viewership of 150,000 during a single time segment. Throughout the event, Chinese media live streaming reached a total heat level of 22.38 million, setting a new record for esports events in China.
