In 2023, Taiwan witnessed the grand opening of FOCASA, a contemporary circus festival brought to life by FOCA (Formosa Circus Art). This event marked not only the introduction of the first big top to Taiwan but also served as a platform with a dual mission: to unveil Taiwan's vibrant circus culture to the world and to welcome international circus performers to the heart of Taiwan. As part of our commitment to fostering international collaboration and artistic exchange, we actively invite international curators from diverse regions including Asia, Australia, Canada, and beyond to engage in our exclusive pitching event tailored specifically for professionals and artists.
The name FOCASA seamlessly merges our company name "FOCA" with the Spanish word "CASA," which embodies our vision perfectly. This fusion symbolizes that our circus tent is more than just a venue—it's a hospitable haven for all circus enthusiasts. Village-13, our main tent, serves as the pulsating heart of our festival, evoking the essence of a central gathering place in a vibrant village where community members unite for jubilant celebrations.
