The Tavrida art cluster, together with the Siberian Design Center of National Research Tomsk State University and the shoe brand YEA 2098, set an ambitious goal for the participants of the design school: to develop a limited edition of sneakers for the new season.
The goal of the art school is to gather the professional community and unofficial ambassadors of sports shoes, draw attention to the current trend and actually prove that, despite all the difficulties of production processes, we have every opportunity to create not only a functional, but also an aesthetically competitive product.
The art school brought together 39 participants who, under the guidance of a team of experts, developed and presented 12 sneaker projects over five days.
The task was to develop a line of sneakers in three segments: Ugly - niche chunky shoes with a bright design in the style of the YEA 2098 brand; Basic - a commercial line “for everyone”, but at the same time maintaining the spirit of the brand; Concept is a thematic model that tells a story and attracts the attention of an extraordinary audience.
Based on the results of the art school, an exhibition of the participants’ works was held. Several sneaker models were selected for further development, creating prototypes and launching mass production.
