The cherry blossoms in New Taipei City bloom in succession from early in the year until March, showcasing a diverse range of varieties. Among them, the Tri-Color Cherry Blossoms at Tianyuan Temple are the first to bloom, welcoming visitors during the Lunar New Year and marking the start of the city's cherry blossom season.
To enhance the cultural experience and highlight the region’s scenic beauty, the event was set in the Tri-Color Cherry Blossom Forest behind Tianyuan Temple. Integrating urban green aesthetics and local tourism resources, the exhibition team has curated an immersive artistic and natural experience. The festival merges nature, tourism, and culture, transforming the cherry blossom season into a refreshing and innovative springtime festival that redefines the traditional hanami experience.
A key highlight of this event was its thoughtful presentation of the cherry blossoms’ charm both day and night. During the day, the soft pink hues of the tri-color cherry blossoms harmonize with the surrounding tranquil forests. At night, dynamic lighting design using color-washed and effect lights transforms the grove into a dazzling, romantic landscape infused with vibrant energy.

The curation team also brought in international artistic flair by collaborating with American artist Sara Berrenson, known for her bold use of color and nature-inspired motifs. Her work is featured in the immersive “Flowing Sakura Garden” light installation, which also inspired the event’s visual identity, lending a contemporary, global touch to the seasonal celebration.
In addition, the team worked with Lai Yung-Kun, renowned art director of the award-winning series Gold Leaf, to create the “Sakura Light House”, blending nostalgic Japanese aesthetics with local cultural elements.
By combining nature, light, and art, the event not only appeals to nature lovers but also draws art and design enthusiasts, offering a refreshed, multi-sensory cherry blossom experience that reimagines the spring season in New Taipei City.
