Mountain View Group was contracted by RTX to create a video series entitled “Big Questions” in which subject matter experts speak on the impactful problems/questions that they are addressing in their everyday work lives. This was the third ‘season’ of the series and a messaging pivot from the first two. Initially the series was intended to provide information around workflow innovations, a wide variety of technologies, and raise audience awareness about core competencies and thought leadership at RTX. Our main challenge in this third season was to ratchet up the drama in the profiles to boost engagement metrics across all channels.
We retooled the graphics and reworked the structure of the videos to lead with a compelling issue or question that set the tone for the messaging. We targeted higher profile interviewees that were compelling in terms of charisma and background. We altered the content development process so that the comms teams for each interviewee had greater participation in messaging development, thus allowing the footage to have multiple purposes. We kept the initial shoot approach: a single interviewee shot head to toe with two cameras against a white background. Supporting footage and assets were supplied by client comms teams.
