In celebration of the Year of the Snake in 2025, the Hsinchu City Government proudly presents the 2025 Hsinchu Lantern Festival: Everything Snake-tacular! At the heart of the festival is the stunning main lantern, "Colorful Serpent Splendor," a remarkable collaboration between talented emerging designer Yu-Wei Shen and the esteemed Hsinchu-based folk artist Pao-Chih Liu. This extraordinary piece showcases a kaleidoscope of geometric shapes and vibrant hues, weaving together a visual narrative that harmoniously blends traditional craftsmanship with contemporary artistry. In addition to the striking main lantern, the Hsinchu Moat is adorned with six imaginative light installations that significantly enhance the festival's narrative and invite interaction. Among these, "Shake It, Snake!" captivates visitors with its whimsical snake-shaped structure, which features swings and a stylish photo booth. This enchanting installation encourages guests to capture joyful moments of the festival within a beautifully framed circular backdrop, making it a perfect spot for memorable photographs.
Another standout piece, "Peanut Butter & Serpent Surprises," draws inspiration from Hsinchu’s beloved peanut butter and the enchanting imagery of a snake swallowing an elephant from *The Little Prince*.
