For Metro Vancouver’s event at the PNE, we designed an interactive scavenger hunt that turned exploration into an engaging game and encouraged users to visit all nine departments within the event space as some were more appealing than others. Using QR codes as digital breadcrumbs, we guided visitors to explore the entire 23,000 square foot event space in a way that was both fun and informative.
Scattered throughout the event space, each QR code unlocked a thought-provoking question tied to a specific department. The more questions participants answered, the more chances they had to win an electric bike, an incentive that kept them moving, scanning, and learning. Those who completed the full hunt earned extra entries, encouraging deeper engagement with Metro Vancouver’s initiatives.
We focused on making the experience seamless. QR codes were placed intuitively, the interface was easy to use, and every interaction felt natural. Behind the scenes, a real-time reporting system tracked engagement, from scan rates to answer accuracy, providing Metro Vancouver with valuable insights while respecting user privacy.
Designed for flexibility, this system can scale to fit any event or industry. More than just a fun activity, it’s a smart way to connect with audiences, gather meaningful data, and shape future event strategies. This project is a perfect example of how we blend digital and physical experiences to create something memorable, not just for the moment, but for the long run.
