About The Entry

Alt_ So Scary 4.0: The Cult is the fourth chapter of an annual immersive horror experience held in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Set inside the eerie, 100-room abandoned Siri Apartment, this edition plunged participants into a fictional world ruled by The Sinister One—a demonic entity who refuses to let the audience leave until they’ve made an impossible choice.
Participants did not merely observe; they became part of the story. Transported by Chiang Mai’s iconic red songthaew taxis along a secret route, guests arrived blindfolded, unaware of the location or what awaited them. Upon entry, they were divided into groups and sent on a mission through haunting spaces such as the Ritual Room, Music Room, Dining Room, and more. Their objective: to complete interactive challenges and collect symbolic pieces of fabric—each a token representing their future vote.
At the heart of the story was a girl being forced to submit to The Sinister One. Would the audience save her or surrender her? To answer this, they had to face trials that tested both courage and conscience—from decoding invisible spells under blacklight to lying in caskets during incense-soaked ceremonies.
Guided by over 20 costumed performers, each with rich backstories and distinct roles, the audience experienced a journey that blurred the lines between theatre, ritual, and game. With detailed set design, eerie lighting, ambient soundscapes, and Thai spiritual references, the apartment became a living, breathing cult compound.
The climax brought all guests to a sacrificial altar where their collective vote—release or sacrifice—determined one of two dramatically different endings. Each outcome sparked conversation, discomfort, and introspection.
The Cult stood out for its commitment to immersive storytelling, blending horror theatre, escape room mechanics, and folklore into a seamless, site-specific experience. The audience were not spectators—they were initiates whose decisions carried real narrative weight.
