The Mark and Mary Stevens Neuroimaging and Informatics Institute (Stevens INI) 10th Anniversary Lookbook celebrates a decade of innovation while envisioning the future of neuroscience. Combining scientific rigor with narrative storytelling, it transforms complex research into visually striking and emotionally engaging formats.
The Lookbook is divided into ten themed chapters, including technological breakthroughs, research milestones, interdisciplinary collaborations, and future visions. Each begins with a key scientific concept, such as a neurotransmitter or neuroscience concept, represented visually with molecular diagrams, color coding, and brief explanations. Each chapter ends with a forward-looking reflection titled “What’s next?” alongside bold imagery that links current knowledge to future possibilities.
Highlights include an astronomical analogy illustrating data scale (Page 52), a 3D atlas of the mouse hippocampus (Page 24), visualizations of MRI data transforming into brain imagery (Page 96), and global maps of the IDA and ENIGMA’s international reach (Pages 54–55). Pages 76–77 feature installation-day schematics and clinical imaging to trace the journey from technology to patient impact.
Through immersive panoramas, intimate portraits, and data visualizations, the Lookbook balances emotional resonance with clarity. It not only documents milestones, from North America’s first 7T MRI to neurodegenerative disorder breakthroughs, but also honors the people driving discovery, offering a bold, visually rich vision for the future of brain science.
