About The Entry
Songshan Cultural and Creative Park (SCCP), formerly the Songshan Tobacco Factory, fulfills its role as “Taipei City’s Hub for Originality” by redefining soft power, building social networks, managing brand value, and cultivating talent. By fostering creative minds and encouraging innovation, SCCP has become not only an important hub for creativity in Taiwan, but also a key site in the international cultural and creative industry. As Taipei's 99th municipal historic site located in a prime area of Taipei City, with new buildings rising around it, SCCP’s rich history, ecology, and culture stand out even more. Each year, SCCP organizes events such as SCCP Grad Expo, Songyan Summer Festival, and Songyanland Festival to promote its brands and support emerging creators. It provides a space for the public to appreciate art and innovation, and to marvel at creativity that knows no bounds. In 2025, the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park recorded 11.51 million visitors.
The Songyanland Festival debuted in 2012 and has showcased over 100 original works at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park (SCCP) thus far. Since 2019, the festival has started to present outdoor site-specific art. In 2023, we incorporated field surveys of cultural history to explore the connection between the site and the city. Through art, the heritage spaces of the site are continually revitalized, with stories of the Songshan Tobacco Factory’s transformation into a cultural and creative park shared.
Inspired by the idea that everything is created by skillfully harnessing the power of the earth, we have named the 2025 Songyanland Festival “Tracing The Echoes.” This theme reflects our hope to return to the source and explore the echoes within. The festival presents six site-specific works, two site-specific performances, and one themed exhibition, connecting the four industrial heritage sites along the old railroad corridor in Taipei. These works collectively spark conversations about the history of railway transportation and enhance our understanding of the city's industrial development.
Approximately 600,000 visitors entered the park during the exhibition period of 2025 Songyanland Festival.
