About The Entry
Iced coffee has become a year-round ritual, but its flaw is universal. The first sip is bold and balanced. The last is diluted and disappointing. As ice melts, flavor fades. What begins as a premium experience often ends in compromise. The result is a behavior hiding in plain sight: abandoned iced coffees. Half-finished cups left on desks, in cars, and on café tables because the final sips simply are not worth it.
For a brand built on boldness, that quiet acceptance of dilution felt like the real problem. The insight was clear. People do not finish their iced coffee not because they are done, but because the drink gives up on them first.
To address this, Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii introduced Coffee Cubes made entirely from real Bad Ass coffee. As they melt, they strengthen the drink rather than water it down. But instead of launching them as a functional upgrade, we created The Iced Coffee Rescube Program, reframing dilution as a crisis and positioning the cubes as the hero.
The campaign rolled out across Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok through organic and paid content. Online videos dramatized the fate of abandoned iced coffees, while comedic creators produced relatable skits about watered-down disappointment. Social carousels featured tongue-in-cheek obituaries for unfinished drinks, turning a common frustration into a shareable cultural moment.
In-store posters reinforced the rescue narrative at the point of purchase. Elevated macro photography heroized the Coffee Cubes themselves, showcasing texture, richness, and appetite appeal to signal premium innovation.
By spotlighting a normalized pain point and transforming it into a brand-led mission, The Iced Coffee Rescube Program turned a simple product innovation into a bold, culturally resonant platform that protected every sip from start to finish.
