The Away Game

There is only one ice hockey team in all of Kenya. But as much as they love the game, they have nobody to play. Proud to share the love of the game, Tim Hortons brought the Kenya Ice Lions hockey team to Canada, the birthplace of hockey, for their first-ever game. We gave them more than just a team to play against. To make it a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience, we surprised them with brand new equipment, and two special teammates ? Canadian hockey heroes, Sidney Crosby and Nathan MacKinnon. The story inspired hockey lovers worldwide, garnered an outpouring of support for the Ice Lions, and helped ensure hockey in Kenya will keep growing. Most importantly, we proved that no matter where you come from, nothing brings us together like sharing our love of the game.
