About The Entry

Minds Align, Journalism Shines.
The Wei Ming-Kuang Prize, established by Wei Fund, supports journalism in Taiwan, enhances reporting quality, and nurtures a new generation of journalists with global vision and innovative thinking. The visual identity is based on “Climbing High to See Far, Bearing Great Responsibility.” Climbing high represents achievement, broader vision, and the ability to create journalism with public impact. The stair-like graphic integrates upward movement with the inverted forms of W and M, symbolizing Wei and Ming. The mirrored structure reflects diverse perspectives, critical thinking, and the responsibility of communication professionals in interpreting the world.
The color system uses Taiwan Blue, Cosmos Blue, and Graphite Blue, expressing a foundation rooted in Taiwan with a vision toward the world. Gradient and blended applications add depth and flexibility. As “Ming Kuang” suggests illumination, the foundation identity uses sunlight and fertile-soil gold to symbolize support, cultivation, and the continuous lighting of Taiwan’s communication field. The design system extends to digital and printed materials, trophies, ceremony visuals, booklets, and related applications. The trophy design further emphasizes critique and reflection on the path of progress.
