Spin barstool from recycled plastic

The Spin Barstool is a short product film produced by CUUB Studio in collaboration with propro — the Kyiv-based furniture brand founded by architect Slava Balbek — tracing the full lifecycle of a piece of design: from discarded plastic waste to a finished, beautiful object.
The Spin barstool is built around a simple idea executed with precision. A clean metal frame pairs with a seat in either wood or recycled HDPE plastic — a material choice that carries real environmental weight. The recycled plastic option transforms bottle caps and consumer waste into a vibrant, durable surface available across a wide spectrum of colors, turning sustainability from a selling point into something you can actually see and touch.
CUUB's creative contribution was to make that journey visible. The animation opens in close-up — raw plastic bottle caps, unrefined and unprocessed — then follows the material through every stage of transformation until it becomes the seat of a finished barstool. Nothing is skipped or abstracted. The process is the story.
The visual language was built around Scandinavian restraint: minimalist angles, a warm and inviting palette, negative space that lets the object breathe. The moodboard resonated with the client from the start, and those tones became the foundation for a concise visual language that perfectly aligned with the project's minimalist aesthetic.
The result is content that does more than showcase a product — it invites the viewer to be part of a meaningful, sustainable journey, and makes the ethics of the design just as legible as its aesthetics.
