About The Entry

The Center for the Art of Translation website brings together the many dimensions of a singular cultural organization: literary publishing, public programming, education, community-building, and advocacy for translators and international writers.
Project6 designed and developed the site to give CAT a more cohesive, expressive, and scalable digital presence. The challenge was to unify a wide range of content and audiences without flattening the organization’s personality. CAT needed to speak to readers, educators, translators, writers, donors, event attendees, and literary partners, while also supporting its award-winning publisher Two Lines Press, its Poetry Inside Out education program, public events, journal content, videos, resources, and campaign messaging.
The new site creates a clearer path through this ecosystem. A simplified navigation structure helps visitors quickly understand who CAT is and how to engage, whether they are exploring translated literature, registering for an event, learning about classroom programs, reading journal content, supporting the organization, or following the development of CAT’s future permanent home for literary translation.
Visually, the site balances literary sophistication with warmth and accessibility. Strong typography, flexible article layouts, clear calls to action, and a modular content system give CAT’s team the tools to publish frequently and highlight timely programs, books, news, events, and fundraising priorities. The experience feels editorial, mission-driven, and alive, reflecting CAT’s role as a bridge between languages, cultures, and communities.
The result is more than a nonprofit website. It is a digital cultural hub for the art of translation: a place where readers discover new voices, educators access meaningful resources, translators are recognized, and supporters can see the growing impact of CAT’s work. The site gives the organization a strong foundation for its next chapter while making its mission more visible, navigable, and engaging.
