About The Entry
The Grind Hotline is an independent Canadian worker-first media and workplace-intelligence platform built to close the information gap between employers and workers in the permanent layoff economy.
Companies hold restructuring plans, workforce models and internal forecasts. Workers often receive fragments: a hiring freeze, a missing backfill, an unexplained reorganization, new monitoring, an AI productivity mandate or a delayed company memo. The Grind Hotline connects those fragments through source-linked reporting and free tools that help professionals understand visible pressure before it becomes personal.
The project combines more than 200 articles with podcast and video reporting, a seven-question Job Threat Check, the Layoff Tracker plus Corporate Stress Index, and a Weekly Layoff Intelligence Report. The index monitors 50 major technology, banking and financial-services employers and preserves weekly snapshots of public signals including confirmed layoffs, WARN notices, restructuring, AI pressure, outsourcing, offshoring, no backfill, hiring freezes, return-to-office enforcement and employee monitoring.
The system does not claim to predict confidential layoff decisions. It separates confirmed facts from credible reporting and clearly identified analysis, then explains what developments may mean for workers.
Built independently after its creator experienced job loss and corporate pressure firsthand, The Grind Hotline transformed one difficult experience into practical worker infrastructure. A single development can become an article, podcast episode, video, tracker signal, weekly update and pathway into a free personal assessment.
The result is a Canadian-built media system serving an international audience with one central promise: help workers see the warning signs before the company memo arrives. Its connected strategy received a 2026 dotCOMM Platinum Award for Content Strategy.
