About The Entry
Adolescence is a critical period for emotional development, yet many young people struggle to recognize, express, or seek help for psychological distress. Traditional mental health services can also feel formal, inaccessible, or intimidating, creating barriers to early support.
Mind Orbit explores how AI and augmented reality can provide a more approachable form of everyday emotional intervention. The project investigates how multimodal AI can interpret emotional signals from text, voice, visual cues, and interaction patterns, while memory systems help identify changes over time. Based on these insights, an AI agent selects suitable micro-interventions rather than simply generating conversational responses.
The project focuses on creating a supportive experience that exists between everyday self-care and professional mental health services. Instead of positioning AI as a therapist or diagnostic tool, Mind Orbit acts as an emotional companion that encourages self-awareness, provides low-pressure interventions, and guides users toward human support when necessary.
