JMA International Jewelry Design Competition (IJDC), organzine by Hong Kong Jewelry Manufacturers’ Association (HKJMA) one of the largest jewelry association in Hong Kong, has been running yearly since 1998. Due to the pass few years Winners’ pieces were too similar and traditional. In 2019, IJDC wants a break thought from it, by giving a fresh and creative theme to the applicants.

The challenge of the IJDC 2019 project is the theme name and key visual has to avoid any jewelry materials suggestion. The visual concept used an abstract light reflection pattern that combined with vivid colour in a round shape. Meanwhile casting a light thought the object to represent the chemical reaction between jewelry and wearer relation. Suggesting jewelry can cast out wearers’ charm and personality. As a result the jewelry and wearer become whole and form an “uniqueness” piece.
