1 Congratulations on your achievements in the MUSE Creative Awards! Could you start by introducing yourself or your agency? Can you also share a bit about your journey into your current industry?

Thank you for this recognition and for the opportunity to present my work. I’m Jizhuo Li, a fashion designer specializing in imaginative, storytelling garments supported by intricate craftsmanship. I am fascinated by how garments interact with the human body and how this relationship influences both form and wearer, becoming an integral part of the design process. This perspective guides my journey in fashion, where I strive to create pieces grounded in thoughtful concepts and executed with precision.

2 What inspired you to submit your work for this competition, and what does winning mean to you personally and professionally?

I chose to participate because of the openness and creativity reflected in this competition. I believe creativity is more important than ever in today’s art and design landscape. To me, creativity is never a solitary process—it thrives through the exchange of ideas. Competitions like this offer a valuable opportunity to understand different perspectives while staying attuned to new ideas and experimentation.

3 Can you share the story behind your success? What inspired its creation, and what do you feel it represents in today’s industry?

I attribute my work to my background in fashion design, which provided a well-rounded education not only in the making of garments, but also in their conceptual development—the social, cultural, and personal factors that shape each piece. My tendency to explore multiple directions has also been valuable, as I often incorporate techniques from fields beyond fashion into my work. I believe this cross-disciplinary approach is essential in today’s fashion industry, where ideas are shaped through collaboration and influenced by perspectives outside of fashion.

4 What do you believe set your project apart in such a competitive field? Were there specific elements or strategies that made it shine?

To say that passion sets my work apart would be an understatement. While specific elements and strategies may evolve over time, passion, for me, means dedicating extra care to every step of the process—because designing and producing are things I genuinely enjoy, and that attention, sustained over time, becomes something significant. I strive to create garments that best serve my storytelling, from shaping the posture of the models to complete each look to engaging closely with filming and photography to find angles that align with the concept. These details may seem small, but together they form work that I find deeply fulfilling.

5 Every project has its challenges. Can you share a significant obstacle you faced during this process and how you overcame it?

In The Perfect Human Being, one of the main challenges was maintaining a cohesive theme while navigating the many ideas I wanted to explore. There were countless details I could have developed, but it was essential to stay focused on the overall tone and avoid overwhelming the audience.

6 Winning an award of this caliber often brings recognition. What do you hope this achievement will mean for your career, your team, or your agency in the long run? Have you already noticed any changes or opportunities arising from this recognition?

I hope to connect with like-minded artists to collaborate with, regardless of discipline. I enjoy working across fields to learn, exchange ideas, and continue growing both creatively and personally.

7 What has the reaction been from clients, audiences, or stakeholders about your winning entry? Any feedback or memorable moments that stand out?

I’ve received a great deal of support from those around me, along with a growing sense of anticipation as I worked on this project—people often expressed, “We really want to know what happens next.” That kind of curiosity became a powerful source of motivation throughout the process.

8 For those aspiring to achieve similar success, what advice would you offer to help them not only thrive in their industries but also craft compelling, award-worthy entries? Are there specific practices, mindsets, or strategies you believe are key?

I believe that, at its core, you have to genuinely enjoy what you do—and enjoy it enough to stay committed over time. While everyone’s process and circumstances are different, that sense of enjoyment often helps you find an approach that truly works for you.

9 The creative industry is constantly evolving. How do you view these changes, and where do you hope to position yourself in the future?

I believe that embracing change is essential for anyone in the creative industry. It opens up new ways to experiment, explore ideas, and communicate with others. I look forward to what the future has to offer.

10 Entering awards can be daunting for many, especially those just starting out. What would you say to individuals who have limited experience, or are hesitant to showcase their work in competitions? How can they build confidence and see the value in participating?

Taking the first step can be intimidating, but it’s often where great ideas begin. You may already have one within you—your work has the power to inspire someone.

11 Creativity thrives on community. What message would you like to share with fellow creatives, marketers, and advertising professionals?

Everyone is doing such incredible work—it feels like I get to know a part of each creator through what they share. Their work inspires me to grow as a creative, and I look forward to seeing what comes next.

12 Winning is a team effort in many cases. Is there someone or a group of people you’d like to dedicate this achievement to, and why?

I would like to thank Turbulence Creative, a team dedicated to supporting artists through technical expertise. They assisted me in developing a spinning mechanical element for my work, which was incredibly valuable.

13 If you could describe your award-winning entry in one sentence, what would it be and why?

A living doll. In this project, I explore the idea of overwhelming the wearer, shaping them into a doll-like figure to reflect the act of molding others and overriding their autonomy.

14 Finally, what’s next for you? Any exciting projects or upcoming goals that you’d like to share with us and the audience?

In the future, I’d like to translate my ideas and creativity into more wearable forms. I aim to create pieces that integrate into the wearer’s everyday life, and I look forward to developing new videos that capture their essence.
