MSA Installation Guide

Traditional E-Learning has always been a great tool for knowledge transfer, but is unable to reach the point of actual skills transfer. With the Microsoft HoloLens 2 and Dynamics 365 Guides, it's now possible to create self-paced on-the-job learning tools so users can gain real job skills.

In Partnership with NYSEARCH, CraneMorley created this guide, which walks new users through all the tools and steps needed to assemble a new gas meter, from the service riser to the house line. The instruction set is complimented by photos, videos and most importantly, 3D holograms that guide the project to completion. A brand new user with no experience is able follow the steps and build out the entire gas meter in about 40 minutes.
With travel and face-to-face restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic, the HoloLens and Guides prevents delays in critical new-hire and on-the-job training by reducing the need for instructor led training.

Mixed reality is a perfect tool to support on-the-job learning, allowing the user to interact with both virtual HoloGrams as well as real world tools and equipment.
