! Hi ! I'm Yaz, thanks for taking a look at my site. I'm a physicist with a passion for living things and the way they use energy and, in particular, a mysterious quantity called 'entropy'.

I think it's safe to say that I spread myself out wide. I'm into loads of different things: photos, videos, writing, poetry, music — even within physics my interests are disparate: probability, thermodynamics and mechanics all play a major role in my work, as does molecular biology, the geochemical rock record and statistical neuroscience. I love the consistent undercurrent that runs beneath all things living: the ability to find meaning and patterns in nature and to participate in the world.

And I love people too, in all our colours and multitudes. There is an immense value how we discover ourselves and express beauty to one another, and I like to pay attention to that too.

So basically... I do a whole bunch of different things.

I co-founded a media collective at uni and continue to collaborate with brands and fashion-shows.

I take photographs of many subjects: friends; strangers; small things; living things; places to see; spaces to pray.

I'm passionate about the environmental crisis, about both communicating about it and participating in non-violent direct action here in London.

I love paintings, and created a virtual art museum website which I curate called [[ Pictures of Paintings ]] — it's designed to help people learn how to appreciate art.

No doubt I'm a little bit of a weird one. But, somehow, I've found a way to carve a path in this world that lets me devote myself to the causes I find to be worthwhile. It's not the norm, but it's true to the internal essence of the creative pursuit: to create for its own sake, and to engage with that great undercurrent in all things; to share and participate in the meaning, the beauty and the patterns we discover throughout our lives.
