The first digital party conference of the CDU in Germany made history – and is a success story at that.
Within 4 weeks, the team transformed the party conference into a compact and entertaining digital format that 1001 delegates, with an average age of 60+, were able to take part in and experience on their own laptop.
For this purpose, a 30-year tradition of a 4-day on-premises event was broken and a compact format was developed. This on the one hand, focused on the essentials and, on the other hand, was also able to include the delegates requests to speak live from home.
A large number of statutory regulations, reports with debates, speeches, votes and elections, as well as community moments, such as a prayer and singing of the national anthem, were staged in an exciting and emotional way with the help of augmented reality elements.
We developed a complex dynamic system of AR diagrams and graphs that made the results of the ballots with different numbers of candidates visible with only a minimal live delay of a few seconds.
By combining exciting camera flights in combination with AR elements, we staged the party congress as an event that the party itself has proclaimed as a benchmark and was seen and perceived as coherent all over the world.
