The St. John’s College of Nursing is a 135 year old institution run by the Hospital Sisters Health System in Springfield, Illinois. The college had an antiquated website that was not representative of the state of art education it provided. As part of HSHS which is made up of 17 hospitals, scores of health centers and clinics, nearly 2,300 physician partners, and more than 13,000 colleagues, the new website was designed to reflect the power of the system.
THE FOURCE GROUP created a new online presence designed for nursing students in today’s digital age who were seeking a specialized education and access to information for prospective students, current students and alumni.
This effort included a complete overhaul of the site and integration of the site into the HSHS mothership web platform, while still maintaining its own identity as a place of learning.
The site redesign elevated the user experience to a customized platform so new, current and past students could be connected to the information they need in a personalized manner and integrated online scheduling, online bill pay and more.
The site was built over a 6-month period where THE FOURCE audited, designed, organized content and developed new features. The result is a clean, crisp, easy to use innovative website that changes the traditional idea of how a nursing school website is supposed to act, look and feel while delivering all of the functionality and accessibility that it needs in order to serve all audiences.
The integrated site established a clear presence of connectivity to the larger HSHS organization and demonstrated the vast network of care that the Hospital Sisters Health System offers. In addition, by making the strategic decision to build the site as part of one mega site, the power and authority of the site has gained prominence through search engine optimization. The site now meets the needs of new students searching for in person learning during the ever changing global pandemic. The connectivity, communicability and functionality of the website has already changed the way St. John’s College of Nursing is perceived and increased engagement.
