Anno Domini 1909: Cornelius Wilhelm von Heyl zu Herrnsheim, entrepreneur, politician, art collector, patron of the arts and respected citizen of the city of Worms, acquires a vineyard with prime sites in Nierstein on the Rhine. This laid the foundation for a success story that continues to this day, as the winery has borne his name since that year.
This cuvée of 80% Blaufränkisch and 20% Pinot Noir honors the far-sighted and generous patron of his hometown and is an equally exceptional personality. The vines are located on the Rote Hang, dominated by slate terroir, and the strict manual harvest yielded just 30 hl/ha to the winepress. After spontaneous fermentation, the cuvée matured for 15 months in barrique.

With the label we pay great attention to the year of foundation. The minimalist, yet playful label captures the flavor of the wine. Clearly structured but still very aromatic for a German red wine. The wine was sold exclusively at Jacques' Wein-Depot, one of the largest wine retailers in Germany. It was completely sold out within 2 weeks.
